This 3 day tour goes gently using bike paths and avoiding tough climbs through one of the most interesting areas of Portugal with plenty of historic villages, along the beautiful Minho river on the border with Spain, and along the Atlantic coast with magnificent beaches.
The region of Minho, in the far north west of Portugal, takes its name from the River Minho that forms the northern border with Spain. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with mountains, river valleys and a dramatic Atlantic coastline.
This is one of the wettest areas in Portugal (with rains concentrated from late autumn to early spring) but in summer is cooler here than in the Algarve to the south which makes cycling and any outdoor activity easy and pleasant.
Considered the birthplace of Portugal, the Minho is also the home of Portugal’s famed wine “Vinho Verde”.
The whole area is part of the DOC (denominated origin) "Vinho Verde", a unique wine only produced in this area, which is a great company to experience the local and rich gastronomy.
There's no better way to experience the North of Portugal in only three days!
