Itinerary

Day 1 Sanremo to Loano
Nothing better to start this trip with a safe cycle path along the Mediterranean Sea: a abandoned railway turned onto a great cycling experience, with its tunnels and great views.

Day 2 Loano to Voltri / Genoa
Starting in Loano, we will pass so many coastal towns that it's impossible to mention all of them! But one we can mention is Borgio Verezzi, a romantic town with its alleys and open views of the coast.

Day 3 Genoa (no riding)
Genoa (Genova) is a port city and the capital of northwest Italy's Liguria region. It's known for its central role in maritime trade over many centuries.

Day 4 Genova to Sestri Levante
Cycle town by town until from Genoa, the main city of the region., heading to Recco. From Recco, with his traditional cheesy focaccia, we divert after a few bend to Camogli,a charming and unique fishermen town, a real postcard.

Day 5 Sestri Levante to Monterosso
Start with a steep uphill getting out of Monterosso. A little ride along the hills and then straight down to Levanto using a new bike lane (once upon a time a railway track) alternating stunning open views of the sea with historical tunnels cutting the Ligurian rugged hills.

Day 6 Monterosso - Cinque Terre (no riding)
Portovenere, Cinque Terre, and the Islands (Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto) is a remarkable cultural landscape created by human endeavour over a millennium in a rugged and dramatic natural environment.

Day 7 Monterosso to La Spezia
Today we cycle inland to avoid a busy road and dangerous tunnels. The morning will start with a tough climb to leave Monterosso, so have a good and relaxed breakfast and be ready to push!

Please note that daily distances will vary based on your choice of accommodation and site visits or detours.
